Brunch & Day Parties

This weekend has been full of adventures! Saturday was one of my bestfriend’s birthday, so of course we had to find a lot to do. For brunch, a bunch of us went to La Flaca, which is in LES (Lower East Side). They have a brunch special where you pay a certain price for your food and 2-hour unlimited mimosas, margarita’s, sangria, or bloody mary’s. I’m not a big clear alcohol drinker, at all, but if it comes down to it, I’ll go with tequila. We also got a round of shots of tequila, due to a mix up with our reservation. In Philly, there’s only one restaurant that I go to for brunch, which is Green Eggs Cafe. I know there are probably more, but the idea of brunch isn’t like how it is in NYC. Brunch and day parties were never a big deal to me until I moved here.

Afterwards, we made our way up to the Bronx to go to La Marina. I’ve been in NYC for almost a year and have yet to go to the Bronx. My dad kept asking me why I haven’t been to that borough yet; now I can tell him I’ve been for about an hour. La Marina had a Chicken & Beer event. I wasn’t there for too long but the scene was really nice! The venue is right on the Hudson River, with sand and a bunch of bars. I did my box braids at the perfect time; I can wear them down, a high ponytail, or a big bun.

I changed my outfit a good four times before I left my apartment. Last week I went to TopShop on 5th Ave after work, just to browse. That’s when I came across this bodysuit. It was in five different colors but I really liked the way this nude looked against my tanned melanin. I LIVE for bodysuits, so I’ve been looking for more styles; TopShop is the place to go! Bodysuits are extremely trendy right now. I saw at least ten different styles of bodysuits, just in TopShop. From basic cotton to metallic to mesh, you shouldn’t have a hard time for one.   My skirt is one of my basic midi skirts from ASOS in maroon. The color combination of my bodysuit and skirt went together so well! I completely forget I had this multi-colored pasley print clutch from Joie.
