My mouth literally dropped to my living room floor when I saw Beyoncé come out! How many years has it been since she’s performed at the BET Awards? It feels like forever but that definitely was the highlight out my night. As soon as I saw the natural hair dancers coming down the isles, I knew it was time for me to get in formation. Freedom is one of the most powerful songs off “Lemonade”. It just gives you this feeling that can’t really be described. You can’t expect ANYTHING less than greatness from Muva, so of course she showed out! The whole time she was performing I kept repeating to myself, “please let her bring out Kendrick.” It got to a point where I didn’t think he would be there, then look at God! I screamed when Kendrick came out because that man is just everything, especially when he performs. His presence is so strong. I wasn’t surprised Beyoncé left the awards right after her performance. When business calls, you have to answer right?

Jesse Williams. This man is not only beautiful physically, but he has a beautiful soul as well. His wife is freakin’ gorgeous too! When BET put the camera on her, with her melanin poppin and big hair, I yelled “Yasssssssss!” His speech last night literally gave me chills. Real life chills were flowing through my body and I hope his speech touched everything who heard it the way it touched me. Jesse Williams is not just an actor but also a very important activist in the black community. I’ve watched him on tv, on social media, and actually in cities going so hard for the black community. Do you understand he’s a mixed man in America and could have easily chose to go the other route but instead continues to endlessly stand up for Blacks? I love it and it really makes my heart smile! Forget Hilary Clinton and Donald Trump, I’m here for Jesse Williams being elected President for the 2016 Election. He hit the nail on the head with so many aspects of black lives. When he mentioned celebrities with money and brands, I knew there were people in the audience who weren’t woke and needed to hear this! “Just because we’re magic doesn’t mean we’re not real”, is a quote he said last night that is going to stick with everyone, possibly forever; I know it’ll stick with me til the end because it is so real. I always talk about “BlackGirlMagic” and that just shined more light on it! Black people are so dope, magical, and beautiful. That speech is definitely one people will be talking about for a long time!
