One of my main sources of style inspiration is the fabulous June Ambrose! She slays every single day, so if you know me well enough, you’ll know she is my favorite stylist. I have pictures of her, as well as Solange, Claire Sulmers, and more people on wall in my cube at work who push the boundaries of fashion. Mrs. June just gives me so much life! She always stays true to herself and can pull off looks that nobody else can. You can find her mixing prints, wearing bold colors, and killing unique accessories. Beyond being an amazing stylist, she’s a dope mom and always puts up new meals that she cooks for her family. She honestly can do no wrong in my eyes! I have yet to see her wear an outfit and I hated it. One day when I use to work at Bloomingdales on 59th St.in Manhattan, I swore she walked by my department. I hope I was wrong because if not, I didn’t get a chance to tell her how big of an inspiration she is to me and a bunch of other women in the fashion world!
June Ambrose is far from new in the fashion/stylist world. Let’s just say her celeb styling list is extensive! I could sit here all day and talk about the celebs/music videos she’s styled. From Diddy to The Fugees to R.Kelly, she’s worked with the best of the best. “The Rain” by Missy Elliott, “Put Your Hands Where Me Eyes Can See” by Busta Rhymes are just two crazy videos she helped style. I remember always seeing those videos when I was younger and thinking how cool everything looked. Knowing now that she was the face behind these videos, it all makes sense. She’s also styled my favorite rapper of all time, Jay-Z, on many occassions; they are also friends which is so lit! “Feelin’ It”, “Change Clothes”, and “I’ll Be” (Foxy Brown & Jay-Z) were all styled by June Ambrose.
From what I’ve seen from her Instagram and Snapchat, June Ambrose just seems like a really dope, fun to be around, down to Earth person!
