In the past week I finished two amazing books that we’re extremely beneficial for me to read at this moment in my life. My Bestfriend told me about “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and I purchased it the last week of August. This book is just great for anyone; business people, employees, marriage, etc. It includes many different lessons and ways to go about personal change. I don’t want to give too much away but I will mention what each habit is. Habit 1 – Be Proactive. Habit 2 – Begin With The End In Mind. Habit 3 – Put First Things First. Habit 4 – Think Win/Win. Habit 5 – Seek First To Undeestand, Then To Be Understood. Habit 6 – Synergize. Habit 7 – Sharpen The Saw. Stephen R. Covey breaks down each habit so well, explaining what they mean and including different scenarios he has seen them in or they can be applied to. The ways in which he describes the habits have helped me to have different outlooks on life and the way I handle situations in different relationships through your my life. Now, “The Alchemist”, I heard of the book many times before but one night someone mentioned this book to me and it stuck with me. I instantly bought it soon after. The book is less than two hundred pages so it’s a quick read, which took me only about two or three days. It was so interesting that it had me not wanting to put the book down at times. Again, I do not want to ruin it for anybody who has not yet read “The Alchemist”; but the two main objectives I took away from the book are 1) no matter how many setbacks, trails, and tribulations you go through, if your really want to seek your “personal legend” you have to set your heart to it, claim it, and go out to get it. 2) Knowledge and understanding is your treasure. So please if you need a good book to get into next, I would highly suggest picking up these two books.
